Some of the screens from Clippings (2013), a series of 24 flatscreens, are included in this ‘Keeping sight’. This work demonstrates Chernysheva’s approach to the reality that surrounds her, mostly in Russia but also in other countries. The artist documents moments and spaces that do not seem important at first sight. These images are not assertively present, but rather in a ‘breathing’ manner, fleeting and unremarkable.
