Location I is a model of a deserted crossroad, a "somewhere-anywhere-place ', shrouded in night-blue light. Everything there is death and orphaned. There is no traffic out there, but still the trafficlights function as if nothing is wrong. Location I is the mise-en-scene of a non-event: nothing happens. Time seems to stand still. Hans De Beeck shows the intense alienation of a place where suddenly all life is gone, making him portray the absurdity of existence, human powerlessness.
