From 1993 onwards, alongside the exhibitions in Ruimte Morguen, you also launched new projects in which society once again took centre stage.

We began with projects in schools, later also in community work. With the support of the cooperative Cera, there was an opportunity to do something on the Left Bank from 2002 onwards. We ultimately worked with the residents of Europark for almost 20 years. In the first project we explored the Europark, where we mainly wanted to show the creativity of the residents. What struck me was that in a neighbourhood of high-rise towers, the typical aspects of community life — a café, a few shops, contact with people in the street — were missing. The towers were not part of the neighbourhood, but stood apart. In high-rises, living space is reduced to a minimum, and people engage with their surroundings in very different ways. That was one of the reasons we were invited. We saw opportunities there and stayed. In collaboration with the OCMW community centre and various local actors, we created the Venstergalerie.
