The M HKA reserves its fifth floor for surprise events and intimate pop-up presentations. INBOX is a place that both inspires and surprises, and grants us a glimpse into the universe of passionate thinkers and doers. With INBOX, M HKA creates a physical space in which the museum addresses often-reccuring questions. In between the various events, we show a selection of our collection work, paying particular attention to video art.

Kunstbende, the competition for artistic talent aged 13 to 19 years, celebrated its 16th anniversary in 2015. In May, the Kortrijk theatre was taken over by young talent from all over the country. The best were assessed in different categories. Aron Wouters clinched the top prize in the category of Visual National: exhibition space at INBOX for two weeks.

Aron Wouters is experimenting in a wide range of media. Starting from photos from his childhood, pictures of which he did not decide on the framing or content, he takes the viewer into an abstract quest. Wouters selects lines, colours and images from the casual, realistic renderings and gradually obtains a more minimalist version of the previous one. In this process, he creates stylized illustrations that can either be seen in isolation or come together in a book version. But Wouters also employs different media and themes.
