Shiva Dances at the Art Institute of Chicago depicts a lecture by Adrian Piper at the Art Institute of Chicago (2003) which spontaneously flowed into a dance - performance. The film is part of a series in which she uses Vedic philosophical imagery with an introspective examination of loss, longing, detachment and self-transcendence.
