LATT: new art in Antwerp 1958-1962 #4 center for contemporary artistic expressions
Speaking of a similar work in the collection of Antwerp’s Royal Museum of Fine Arts , a staff-member of the museum comments: “The raw nature of the material and the industrial components point to Van Breedam’s youth and the surroundings where he grew up: the plumbing workshop of his father, the brickyards in the town of Boom… The discerning composition of the work then again refers to the playful creations of Paul Klee, an artist who at that time made a strong impression on Van Breedam.”
