LATT: new art in Antwerp 1958-1962 #1 the attic myth
In 1955, Dutch artist Jan Strijbosch is a student in the painting studio at the National Institute of Fine Arts in Antwerp. In 1958 he helps to found G58 Hessenhuis. The decorative, almost idyllic paintings he makes following his studies at the Nouvelle École de Paris don't suggest that soon afterwards he will become a member of the Internationale Situationniste, and in 1962 will help organise the Sixth Conference of the I.S. in Antwerp.
