LATT: new art in Antwerp 1958-1962 #5 but vision itself
This drawing by Jochen Hiltmann (b. 1935) directly relates to the sculptures he makes at the time, and also exhibits in Antwerp – at the Middelheimbiënnale, the Hessenhuis and gallery Ad Libitum. His most important motif is the material itself and how these change form. From here flows the recurring contrast between the ideal, polished sphere and the whimsical protrusions, fractures and shifts that evoke geological processes.
