The video-installation Screens combines fleeting, musing film fragments of seemingly random everyday objects with her own texts, at once poetic and sharply sociological. The work draws attention to the insignificant and the specific in order to free such from all-to-easy categorization. In this series Chernysheva brings together an extraordinary degree of visual precision with an explicit interest in storytelling and a marked commitment to social involvement.
