Robert Indiana´s work contains themes that are applied to contemporary objects such as traffic signs, slot machines and jukeboxes. At the same time, his work has a personal background as well as a message. The theme ´The American Dream´ has here a cynical undertone: is the American dream sitting in a car on the highway and having fun with slot machines?
