Every year, one artist or collective is invited to be M HKA’s Superhost. Hanne Lippard kicks it off with her project Contact Mood Share, which materialises through a display of artworks and a programme of events, which will vary under the specific scope of three planned seasons.

The Contact season dedicates its time and space to what might touch or connect one body to another, virtually as well as physically. The word ‘contact’ itself implies the meeting between two physical parts, or various interactions that range between an apathetic work email gathering dust in your inbox to the corporeal interaction of actual human touch, the latter seen today mostly as a health risk. Contact is a call awaiting a response.

As part of the Contact season, Hanne Lippard has prepared a programme of audio works titled A CONSTANT OF FEELINGS related to the notion of ‘contact’. The playlist will air on Friday 23 April 2021 in collaboration with Montez Radio, and it is our great pleasure to share this unique listening experience sharing a selection of soundscapes and sound performances with you.

The season will conclude on Saturday 12 June 2021 with an afternoon of live contributions by invited guests, taking place both physically at M HKA and via online streaming. This event will seek to be at once discursive and performative. It will facilitate a workshop in the form of a discussion club and a support group led by guest choreographer Ania Nowak. Musician Laurel Halo and Hanne Lippard will perform a work based on an ambient score containing musical as well as verbal loops. The same afternoon, a discussion with additional guests will be hosted.
