The Kinora viewer is the Lumière brothers’ answer to the desire to bring the new, popular film images into the home. Widespread adoption of the Kinora came with the British Kinora Bond Company’s variant of the product. Kinora viewers do not use celluloid film but photo stills on paper using the flip-book idea. The Kinora was the proverbial first ‘Home Cinema’.
