Cameron Jamie originally grew up in The Valley, the monotonous sea of suburban concrete that stretches eastward and northwards from Los Angeles far into the California desert. An exotic mixture of Angeleno street life and a youthful gothic sensibility typically informed much of his earlier work and forays into the macabre netherworld of American folk culture. Since moving to Paris some years ago, Jamie’s ‘ethnological’ interests have now shifted to mostly forgotten European folk traditions.
